Realurls was discontinued

Realurls was an open registry of which domains officially belong to which organizations, judging ownership only, never safety. It was closed on 2026-10-05.

The registry reached 1,000 organizations, and every record we audited was correct. But finding the proof that a domain is the real one is slow work per organization, coverage did not grow fast enough to justify it, and no one was relying on the service. A trust source that is no longer maintained must not look alive, so every endpoint now answers "unknown" and no domain is confirmed as official. Please do not rely on anything it said before.

What remains: the final dataset, signed and licensed CC BY-SA 4.0, on GitHub Releases, and the code, rules and every audit in the archived repository.

This notice is served for clients that still point here (the npm package, directory listings, the browser extension). The service will be switched off entirely after one year.
